Graphic Design I
Graphic Design is at the core of how we interact with much of the world around us. Designers create the labels on our products, the books we read, the apps on our phones, the album covers for our favorite musicians, and so much more. Not a single day goes by where you don’t engage with the work of a graphic designer in some form.
Graphic Design I will explore the foundations of design as a vehicle for visual communication. You will learn the language of graphic design through a study of the elements and principles of design. You will learn to use Adobe Illustrator and inDesign, while completing graphic design projects like logo development, concert posters, modes of abstraction, typographic exploration, magazine layout, and more. You will also learn first hand about how graphic designers work with clients by partnering with someone in the SHS community to complete a client project.
